Frances J. Coet - Founder
Frances J. Coet founded Coet & Coet in 1986, and has 30 years experience in accounting, tax preparation and tax planning for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and fiduciaries. A third generation tax preparer, she began her career with an income tax and bookkeeping firm in Iowa. She graduated from Regis University, magna cum Laude, with a major in business administration and a minor in economics.
A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Valuation Analyst, and Certified Financial Planner® Practitioner, she has qualified as an expert witness regarding business valuations and income tax issues, is a specialist in divorce taxation planning and cash flow, and is a seminar leader on tax legislation, tax planning and record keeping for businesses. She has received two Certificate of Education Achievement Awards from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, one for Tax Counseling for Closely Held Businesses and the other for Business Valuation. Before opening her own accounting firm in 1986, she worked for the Internal Revenue Service as a taxpayer service specialist and classroom instructor, and at a local CPA firm.
Fran is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants, Financial Planning Association, and National Association of Valuation Analysts. She was Chair of the Colorado Society of CPAs Federal Taxation Committee and served on their Board 1998-2000 and as Vice President 2000-2001. She also belonged to Women in Focus of the Northwest Metro Chamber of Commerce and was the 2000 SBA Accountant-Advocate for Colorado and Region VIII.
